What happened to Mailstopper?

Tonic recently overhauled its Mailstopper service to make it more effective and simple to use - the new postal junk mail reduction service that comes with Precycle is the result of our work. Tonic is working with the Discovery Channel's "Planet Green" to reach even more consumers who want easy ways to green their lives.

What types of junk mail does Precycle help reduce?

Precycle reduces credit offers, insurance offers, sweepstakes offers, coupon mailers, and direct marketing offers.

Are there certain types of junk mail that Precycle cannot reduce?

We can't reduce mailings you receive as a result of a relationship you have with a company or organization. These include magazine subscriptions, bank statements, brokerage statements, some catalogs and school alumni mailings. Please contact those organizations directly for options they may have to manage those mailings.

How long will it take for me to see the results from Precycle?

It will take at least 3 months for you to see a reduction in your junk mail after purchasing one of our services. Why so long? Most junk mail address labels are printed months in advance so it takes until the next circulation cycle for results to be seen. Some catalogs can take a few months longer to stop.

Is Precycle available to residences outside of the United States?

Precycle is only available to residents in the United States. Canadians can check out the Red Dot Campaign

Can you stop junk mail that comes to my business, or a business that is run out of my home?

No. Precycle will only work for mail addressed to household residents.

Can you reduce mail that is addressed to 'Resident', 'Occupant' or 'Our Friends at'?

Yes. Our opt-out processes and systems will take case of these mailers too.

I just received the Precycle package that contains my postcards. I don't know any of these companies.

The postcards you received are for a handful of direct marketing companies that require a signature from someone in your household before they will remove your name and address. These companies provide mailing lists to other companies - so even if you don't recognize their names, they are very likely contributing to the unsolicited mail you receive. Please sign and mail your postcards right away.

I have an active subscription to Reader's Digest magazine. Will signing and mailing this postcard interfere with my subscription?

No, your magazine subscription will not be disrupted. This postcard will just let them know that they are not to share, trade or sell your information to any outside 3rd party companies.

I have not received my Precycle products and postcards. What should I do?

If you have not received your postcards within 4-6 weeks, please let us know at customerservice@tonic.com.

I have more than one mailing address. Do I need to sign-up more than once?

Yes. Your membership covers a single household name and address. If you need to stop junk mail for additional names at your household, you will need to purchase Precycle specific to that person.

Is my $36 Precycle fee a monthly or yearly subscription?

Precycle is only $36 and the service should last up to three years. This includes active monitoring of your address against several direct marketer mailing lists. And if you get back on a sender's list through a purchase or contribution, we'll resubmit your request for you at no charge. Your account will not be automatically renewed. If you start to receive unwanted mail again, just buy Precycle again.

I have gift certificate from Greendimes / Mailstopper. How do I redeem it?

Email customerservice@tonic.com and we can help you redeem your gift certificate.

How do I know your site is secure?

When you send personal data to Tonic, your transmission will be protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL). SSL is a technology that encrypts your information during transmission. Your information is stored on our servers located in the United States. We treat data as an asset that must be protected and use industry standard tools and processes to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and disclosure.

Where do you plant the trees?

Tonic supports a number of non-profit tree-planting partners. These partners have programs in Africa and Central America - where we will make donations for treeplanting. You can learn more on the "What You've Done" page.

What are some things I can do to protect myself from getting back on the junk mail lists or added to more lists?
